The Sophienpalais in the Sophienterrassen

Historical entrance to a unique city quarter

The three-winged Sophienpalais complex forms the historic entrance to the Sophienterrassen. Formerly used as a military headquarters by the Wehrmacht, later by the British military and finally by the Bundeswehr, it has not only been given a completely new purpose through the renovation of listed elements, but also a life-affirming lightness and elegance through modern additions and expansion. Once you have left the monumental entrance portal behind you, there is little to remind you of its martial use in the past.

Community facilities and a concierge

A Grand Hotel atmosphere

Sophienpalais has a number of special features that make living here so unique. It starts with its own concierge, who welcomes residents and their guests, receives post and deliveries, ensures the privacy of residents and is on hand to help with a comprehensive range of services for all their questions and tiresome everyday duties. An elegant lounge serves as a cosy meeting place where you can socialise, read or celebrate together. There is a separate smoking room for cigar aficionados. The 600-square-metre wellness area includes a sauna, steam bath and modern fitness equipment, as well as an infrared cabin. The gun safe from the former military headquarters has been converted into a wine cellar in which guests can store their favourite bottles in their own lockable compartments.

Gardens, balcony, roof terraces

The sunny side of the Sophienpalais

Viewed from the south, the Sophienpalais presents itself from its cheerful side. Here, there are modern gardens with paths and squares, benches and a fountain, artfully shaped hedges and borders, as well as mighty giant trees stretching their branches towards the sky. In summer, the roof terraces, balconies and private garden areas invite the residents to sunbathe during the day and later to enjoy a barbecue and a sundowner. But this side of the Sophienpalais also has a special splendour when autumn colours the leaves, winter covers everything with a magical glitter or spring coaxes the bright green out of the shrubs and trees.

The Last of His Kind

Das Town-Penthouse im Sophienpalais

The luxurious town penthouse at Sophienpalais is currently the last of its kind to be sold. Its name alone hints at its special character: this new form of living combines the life of a townhouse on two floors with the advantages of a penthouse, across 278 square metres.

The Sophienpalais club lounge is where people meet with like-minded people, celebrate and enjoy life.

Concierge Roman Bartel is a permanent institution at the Sophienpalais, acting as a good spirit of the house and a facilitator of all kinds.

Sauna, steam bath, the latest fitness equipment – everything in the wellness area is designed for health and relaxation.
